One of the younger guys at work suggested that I watch Avatar: The Last Airbender. I was hesitant at first. I had heard of it but figured it was just another kids cartoon similar to all the rest. ( Little kid needs little monster to fight old adult man with big monster.) I saw it was streaming on Netflix and decided to give a go.
WOW!!!
I absolutely loved it. It was incredible from start to finish. I finished the entire series in about a month.
Then, just as I was wrapping up this series, I learn that they were doing a follow up series. I was skeptical that they could recapture the "magic" of the original Team Avatar. I was dead wrong. I think Legend of Korra is insanely entertaining, smart, a bit more mature and the animation is top notch. I am a fan.
Side note: I rented that Last Airbender movie I remember everyone being mad about. I chalked it up to fanboy fanaticism. .......... Good Lord was that movie awful. I found myself getting so MAD while watching this turd! ONG!!?? ONG!!?? Really?

And, since I'll never pass up an opportunity to tear that movie to shreds, I'll agree that the Last Airbender movie was a computer rendered turd from start to finish. The bending effects and the visual style was the only decent thing about it, but it definitely wasn't enough to save it.
